The exchange-based electricity feature
brings savings
Why should you choose exchange-based electricity pricing?
Noticeable savings for those who charge smartly
The average price of exchange-traded electricity is often lower than the price of fixed-price contracts. By scheduling charging and other electricity use during cheaper hours, consumers can save significantly on their electricity bills.
No infrastructure investments for the property
Implementing the feature is easy and does not require any changes to the property's electrical systems. It is only a contract-level change.
Flexible pricing management
The property can set a fixed additional price for consumption (e.g. to cover the transfer fee) and a percentage commission.
What is exchange-traded electricity?
Exchange-based electricity is an electricity contract in which the price of electricity is determined by market prices that change every 15 minutes on the electricity exchange. Unlike traditional fixed-price contracts, the price of exchange-based electricity is not predetermined, but varies according to supply and demand.
What affects the price of exchange-traded electricity?
The price of electricity is typically lowest at night and on weekends, when electricity consumption is lower. During peak consumption times, such as weekday mornings and evenings, the price may increase. The price of electricity on the exchange is also affected by many other factors, such as weather conditions and fuel prices.
What is required to enable the feature?
The property must have a market-based electricity contract with the electricity company of its choice, the devices must be using newer eTolppatechnology (the feature does not yet work with third-party OCPP devices), and the eParking contract must be a housing association or cooperative model.
How does a property determine the price of electricity for users?
The property can set a fixed additional price for consumption (e.g. to cover the transmission fee) and a percentage commission that the user pays in addition to the price of exchange-traded electricity.
Driver interface
All in one app — parking, car heating, and electric car charging are all handled with the same eParking app.
When the property has the exchange-based electricity feature, the user can set a one-time schedule with exchange-based electricity. The user specifies the desired charging time, and the system finds a time period when electricity is at its cheapest. The system automatically schedules charging for this time period.
