Hämeenlinna well park: Half -day installations with nearly 80 download locations

Hämeenlinnan Pysäköinti Oy had received inquiries about installing charging points in its parking lots. One of these was Kaivoparkki, located right next to Goodman, which has contract parking for employees and residents of the area.

We met with Kaivopark representatives and first discussed parking management, after which the discussion moved on to our product eTolppa. The discussion brought up how easy it is to install eTolppa in place of a heating pole. The Kaivopark representative himself knows the world of charging vehicles well and felt that our product would be a good solution for their location. Previously, Kaivopark had a fixed monthly price for charging, so our solution would be fair to the user, as the user is only billed according to usage.

There were a total of 40 Garon KL216 heating pole housings in Kaivopark, and there are many other parking areas in Finland as well. Charging from these devices was only possible in two-hour periods. Charging from a heating pole is not the most ideal situation, as the charger had to go to the pole to turn the clock in order for charging to continue. The situation was also challenging for the hall owner, as he was unable to measure consumption and allocate it to the user.

The heating pole housing can be converted into a smart eTolppa with a small update, so that the entire housing does not even need to be replaced. Updating and deploying one pole takes only a few minutes. In addition to the update, a modem housing was installed in the area, which forms a wireless mesh network between the poles. The modem requires an internet connection, either wirelessly or via cable. The user chooses from the application whether they want to use the eTolppa for charging or heating.

The site has 76 slow charging points, which also serve heaters. In addition, there are two charging points reserved only for electric cars, which have slightly more expensive electricity pricing, and the charging power is up to 22 kW, depending on the car. These devices are particularly suitable for those who need to charge faster.
