The aim in the new construction area of Kangas in Jyväskylä is to make clear solutions: cars will be parked centrally in parking garages and the courtyards of the buildings will be utilized for other purposes. The construction timeline for the area itself is tens of years, and it will be developed with the needs of the residents in mind.
The parking solution is P-Pergamentti, the first parking garage in the area. Its users are mostly residents of the Kangas area. In addition, there are guests of the residents and people working in the area.
During the planning phase of the project, Jyväs-Parkki Oy, the owner of P-Pergament, became aware that smart, remotely controlled charging points could be purchased for parking garages. Jyväs-Parkki Oy held discussions with us and investigated the suitability of eTolppa for the parking garage. The site has both resident and workplace parking, so we are already familiar with similar sites. Jyväs-Park had noticed that the parking site needed a car heating solution. In addition, the number of electric and hybrid vehicles is increasing, so the site should also offer charging facilities. eTolppa serves both needs.
“A modern heating and charging solution is well suited to an area where everything else will be new.”
Parking times at P-Pergamenti are long, so charging electric cars and hybrids can be done with slow charging. Jyväs-Park representatives thought that eTolppa was a suitable solution for the parking garage. “A modern heating and charging solution is well suited to an area where everything else will be new. This fits perfectly into the Smart City / Smart Fabric strategy,” describes Hannu Leskinen, CEO of Jyväs-Parkki Oy.
According to Jyväs-Park, eTolls bring added value to users, as drivers can charge or heat their cars as needed while parking. In addition, the modern additional features increase the value of the property. eTolls have been in use at P-Pergamenti since December 15, 2017, and according to Jyväs-Park representatives, the technical functionality has been mainly excellent.
