Getting started with eParking
1) Downloading the application and registering as a user
You can find the eParking app in your phone's app store. If you have an Apple iPhone, the app store is the App Store . If you use an Android phone (for example, Samsung, Honor, Huawei, Sony, OnePlus), the app store is Google Play .
You can use the Search function in the app store to find the eParking application. Type "eParking.fi" in the search field. You can recognize the correct application by the upside-down teardrop-shaped P logo. Once you have found the correct application in the app store, download the application to your phone by pressing "Search" or "Install". When the installation is complete, you will find the eParking application in your phone's application icons.
There are two ways to create a new username: using a phone number or using your existing Google account, Apple account, or HAKA ID.
To create a username using a phone number:
- Download the eParking app to your phone and open the app or go to app.eparking.fi/login in your browser.
- Select “Create a new account”.
- Select “Register with phone number”.
- Enter your phone number in the phone number field.
- Press "Next".
- The app will send you a verification text message with a six-digit code. Enter the code in the field provided.
- Fill in the requested information in the fields.
- Press "Next".
- You can start using the eParking app!
Creating a username with a Google, Apple or HAKA account:
- Open eParking.
- Choose whether to use your Google account, Apple account, or HAKA account to register.
- Click on the icon whose account you want to use for registration.
- The app opens the login page for the account you selected.
- Fill in your username and password for that account.
- You can start using the eParking app!
The eParking system can be used both as a downloadable application and as a browser version. Both versions have the same features, so you can choose the option that suits you best. The application works on iOS phones and Android phones. The browser version of eParking works well on almost all browsers. There may only be compatibility issues with Netscape. You can log in to the browser version from the eParking homepage under “Login” at eparking.fi .
Parking and Charging options
2) Short-term parking and public charging points
Once you have parked your car, open the eParking app on your phone.
- Make sure that the P icon, or short-term parking map, is selected from the icons at the bottom of the app's map view. In this view, you will see all parking areas where you can park for a short time, such as on-street parking areas and public parking areas.
- If you have allowed the app to use your location, the map view should be where you are with your phone. You can also search for your location on the map by typing the address you are in the search field “Enter your location”. On-street parking areas will automatically appear in the map view, and public parking areas will appear as blue boxes.
- You can move the cursor over the correct area in the map view. The parking options for the selected area will appear at the top of the screen.
- Once you have found the right area, press “Select”.
- Select the license plate number of the vehicle you are parking.
- Specify the duration of your parking. Select the number of hours and minutes. The app will calculate the parking end time and total price.
- Press “Start parking”.
Once you have started parking, you can extend your parking time or end your parking earlier. You will only be charged for the actual parking time.
A public charging station is an electric vehicle charging station intended for public use. These stations are often located in public places, such as parking lots, shopping malls, hotels, restaurants, gas stations, and other locations where electric vehicle drivers can drive and charge their cars. You can see public charging stations used with eParking in the eParking app.
There are two ways to start charging: searching for a charging point on the map or scanning a QR code.
Method 1: Find a charging point on the map
- Open eParking.
- In the map view on the home page, select the P icon from the icons at the bottom. The application will announce “Short-term parking map selected”.
- You can search for public charging points by city or address using the “Enter location” button at the top. You can also use the locator at the top of the map view to find your location. To use the locator, you must have allowed the app to use your location.
- Public charging points are displayed in the map view based on connector type. If you wish, you can filter the search results to a specific connector type by pressing the circle on the right side of the search bar.
- Move the cursor over the correct area in the map view. Parking areas and public charging points appear as blue areas on the map.
- When the cursor is over the area you want to select, an info window will open at the top of the screen. When you have found the right area, press “Select”.
- Find the number of your parking space in the list. You can check the number of the space on the side of the charger. Select the space by pressing its number in the list. Reserved spaces are marked with a car icon.
- After selecting a location, the app will open a page where you can check the price of the charge. Also check that you have selected the correct car registration number.
- Press “Start Download”.
Method 2: Read the QR code
- If the charging device has a QR code, you can also read it in the eParking application under “QR code”.
- The app automatically detects your location and device.
- Check your information and press “Start Download”.
You can see the charging status, duration and total price immediately on the eParking app's home page when you open the app. You can also stop the charging from the home page.
3) Parking in private contract areas
Private contract areas include, for example, housing associations, universities and companies.
A private agreement area means, for example, a parking area or a parking garage of a housing company or workplace. The parking area is restricted to, for example, residents or employees only, and in order to obtain a parking permit for the area, the applicant must meet certain criteria (for example, the address must be the housing company's address or the application must be made using a work email). It is worth checking the criteria with your housing company representative or the person who manages the parking permits at your workplace.
Apply for a private contract area in the eParking system:
- Open eParking.
- Open “Menu”.
- Select “Private contract areas”.
- Select "Send application".
- Search for the private contract area you need access to by address or city. You can also move the pointer to the correct location on the map.
- The application lists all contract areas in the area you searched for in a drop-down menu.
- Select the correct organization from the drop-down menu and press “Continue”.
- Choose your user group (mostly staff at workplaces, residents at housing associations). If you are not sure of your user group, you can confirm your correct group from the property manager or your employer.
- Make sure the information is correct.
- Submit your application. You will receive a confirmation in your email when your application has been approved.
After your application is approved, you can make a reservation for a parking space and/or a charging/heating device.
Once your application for a private contract area has been approved, you can make a reservation for a parking space and/or a heater/charging device. Therefore, in order to make a reservation for a charging device or rent a parking space, you must have a valid license agreement for the parking area in question.
Make a parking reservation at eParking:
- Open eParking.
- Change the map view to the contract parking map by selecting the calendar icon from the icons displayed at the bottom right of the map. The application will announce “Collaboration map selected”.
- Find the parking lot of your housing association or workplace based on your address or location. The application shows in blue on the map the parking lots to which you have parking rights based on your approved agreement.
- Move the cursor over the correct parking area on the map and press “Select”.
- Choose your parking space type:
- An unassigned spot means that you don't have a specific parking spot of your own, but you can park in any free parking spot. There is no charging/heating device.
- An eTolppa space means that you have your own parking space, and there is a charging/heating device at your disposal. You always park in the same parking space.
- An unassigned eTolppa spot means that you do not have your own specific parking space equipped with a charging/heating device, but you can park in any available parking space equipped with a device and use the device to heat or charge your car.
Please note that not all parking areas may offer all of the parking types described above. Different parking types may have different prices.
- After selecting your parking type, press “Next.” If the parking area does not have the parking type you selected, you can join the queue.
- On the next page, select the contract start date and billing interval. Fill in the additional information. Note that you can add the license plate numbers of all vehicles you use to the reservation at this stage if you wish.
- Press “Next”.
- Check that the information is correct.
- Read and accept the terms of use.
- Finally, press “Confirm”.
Your parking space reservation will take effect on the start date of your chosen contract, when you can start parking in the parking area. Remember to make sure that the license plate number of the vehicle you are parking is selected as active in the app! An incorrect license plate number may result in a parking ticket.
An unassigned eTolppa spot means that you do not have your own specific parking space equipped with a charging/heating device, but you can park in any available parking space equipped with a device and use the device to heat or charge your car.
Some locations use eco mode for car heating. Eco mode means that the device heats your car according to the outside temperature, but for a maximum of two hours at a time. If eco mode is used, all you need to do is set the timer for the time you want your car to be warm. If eco mode is not used, you can schedule a two-hour heating time for a time of your choice.
There are two ways to schedule charging and heating: directly from the eParking app, or by scanning the QR code.
Here's how you can schedule heating or charging for your device:
- Open eParking.
- Open the “Reservations” tab.
- Select the correct reservation from your reservations.
- Check the “Additional services” tab of your reservation to make sure you have selected the correct operating mode for the device (heating, interior heater, or electric car charging).
- Then select the “Schedules” tab.
- Select your parking space from the list. You can find the parking space number on the cover of the charging/heating device.
- You can add a schedule under “Add new schedule”.
- Remember to save.
If your charging/heating device has a QR code, you can also use it to set the schedule. In that case, do this:
- Open eParking.
- On the home page, select the “Qr code” tab. Note that you must allow the app to use your camera to read the QR code on your device.
- Scan the device's QR code in the app.
- The app will take you to a page where you can set the timing directly without having to select your parking space number from the list.
- Set the schedule to the desired time from “Add new schedule”.
- Remember to save.
The device will be powered on when your schedule begins.
Note: If you change your service in the eParking system (Reservations → Additional services), please note that the new service will be valid from the following month.
When you apply for a private contract area, the application will ask for your user group. In housing companies, the most common user group is Resident , and in workplaces, Employee . However, some sites have many different user groups, which may have different parking rights. Sometimes, for example, in workplaces, your user group is the team or unit where you work.
If you are unsure what your user group is, ask your workplace's eParking administrator or your housing company representative.
You can terminate your parking agreement at any time in the eParking app. However, please note that your agreement ends either at the end of the billing period or at the end of a full month. You may still receive a final invoice after the billing period, so remember to pay your final invoice, even if it comes after the agreement has ended!
How to cancel your contract:
- Open eParking.
- Open the “Reservations” tab.
- Select the reservation you want to cancel.
- Select the “Agreement details” tab.
- You can terminate your contract by clicking on “Cancel” in the contract details.
- The app will ask you to confirm that you really want to cancel your contract.
- Press “Confirm”.
4) Resident parking and reserving a parking space
Obtaining a resident parking permit is a two-step process . You must first apply for a parking permit . The parking permit application verifies that you live in an area where residents are eligible for a city parking permit. Once your parking permit application has been approved, apply for a parking permit .
Making a license application:
- Open eParking.
- Open “Menu”.
- Select “Private contract areas”.
- Select "Send application".
- Enter your address or city in the search field (for example, “Tampere, Finland”).
- Select “City parking” from the drop-down menu (for example, “Tampere City Parking”) and press “Continue”.
- Select “Resident parking” from the list and press “Log in - Suomi.fi”.
- Identify yourself using your chosen identification method.
- The system identifies your eligibility for a resident parking permit based on your address. If your address is in an area that qualifies for a resident parking permit, your application will be approved immediately.
Applying for a parking permit:
- Open eParking.
- Select the calendar icon at the bottom of the map view. The app will announce “Contract parking map selected”.
- Enter your address in the search field. The map will move to the address you entered.
- The map shows the area outlined in blue where you can apply for a parking permit.
- Move the cursor over the blue area and press “Make a new reservation”.
- Choose your parking place from the list (Unnamed place).
- Press “Next”.
- Choose the duration of the contract.
- Fill in your car's registration number and check that it is correct.
- Select “Next”.
- Check the information and accept the terms of use.
- Press “Confirm”.
- Pay what you promised as soon as possible. The parking permit is only valid after it has been paid.
Note: If you want to renew your permit, remember to do so at least 30 days before the permit expiration date to avoid interruptions in your parking permit.
Some parking areas allow you to make a reservation in advance, i.e. reserve your parking space the day before you park, for example. Please note, however, that some parking areas require a valid parking agreement in order to make a reservation in advance.
Make a reservation in advance like this:
- Open eParking.
- Open the menu and select “Advance booking”.
- Select “Book parking”.
- In the “Enter location” field, enter the name or address of the parking lot.
- Parking areas are shown on the map as blue areas. Move the cursor over the parking area you want to pre-book.
- When the cursor is over the area, click “Make a reservation” in the box that appears above it.
- On the next page, select the date you want to make a pre-booking for. At the bottom of the page, there is also a “Price List” section where you can check the parking prices for the parking area you have selected.
- Press “Continue”.
- Choose a time for your parking.
- Select the correct vehicle registration number.
- Press “Confirm”.
Your pre-booking details are displayed on the “Pre-booking” page in the menu. You can edit your pre-booking or delete it if necessary. If you are not using your pre-booking, remember to delete it so that the parking space is freed up for others.
If you plan to park in a parking lot that is often full or almost full, you can check the parking lot's occupancy rate in advance on eParking.
Check the parking lot occupancy rate like this:
- Open eParking.
- Select the P icon from the icons at the bottom of the map on the home page. The app will announce “Short-term parking map selected.” Enter the address or name of the parking lot in the “Enter location” field.
- Parking areas are shown as blue boxes on the map. Move the cursor over the parking area whose occupancy you want to check.
- An info box appears above the cursor.
- You can see the occupancy rate of a parking lot in the area information under the area name under “Occupancy rate.” The occupancy rate is reported between 0–100%.
- If a parking area allows for advance reservations, you can do so by clicking the “Make an advance reservation” button in the area details. This will ensure that you get a parking space in the parking area you want.
- You can continue to start parking by clicking the “Select” button, if there is space in the parking area.
Use and access control of the charging devices
5) Timing and use of heating and charging devices
Schedule charging via reservations:
- Open eParking.
- Open the “Reservations” tab.
- Select the “Schedules” tab.
- If you have an unassigned eTolppa space , meaning you can park in any parking space equipped with a charging device, select the parking space number from the list. You can see the number on the cover of the charging device. If you have an assigned eTolppa space , meaning you always park in the same parking space and use the same charging device, you do not need to select a number.
- Add a schedule under “Add new schedule.” Select the time interval you want the device to charge your car. Press “Save.” The device will be powered on when your schedule begins.
- In some locations, it is also possible to choose continuous power to the device, which means that the charger is always powered. In this case, you do not need to set a timer, but can connect the cable when you arrive and disconnect it when you leave. This means that the device always has power to charge your car.
You can also set a timer by scanning the QR code on the device cover:
- Log in to eParking.
- Select the “QR code” tab. Remember to allow the app to use your phone’s camera to read the QR code.
- Point your phone's camera at the QR code on the device and scan the QR code.
- The app recognizes your parking space number.
When you have a heating device in use in your parking space, you can schedule the heating for it using the eParking app.
Schedule heating in reservations:
- Open eParking.
- Open the “Reservations” tab.
- Check the “Additional services” tab of your reservation to make sure you have selected the correct operating mode for the device (heating, interior heater, or electric car charging).
- Select the “Schedules” tab.
- If you have an unassigned eTolppa space , meaning you can park in any parking space equipped with a heater, select the parking space number from the list. You can see the number on the cover of the heater. If you have an assigned eTolppa space , meaning you always park in the same parking space and use the same heater, you do not need to select a number.
- Add a schedule from “Add new schedule”. If your destination has eco mode enabled, set your departure time, i.e. the time you want your car to be warm, to the schedule. In eco mode, the device heats your car based on the outside temperature, but for a maximum of two hours at a time. If eco mode is not enabled, select a period of up to two hours when you want the device to heat your car.
- Remember to save.
- The device will be powered on when your schedule begins.
You can also set a timer by scanning the QR code on the device cover:
- Log in to the eParking app.
- Select the “QR code” tab. Remember to allow the app to use your phone’s camera to read the QR code.
- Point your phone's camera at the QR code on the device and scan the QR code.
- The app recognizes your parking space number.
- Add a schedule from “Add new schedule”. If your destination has eco mode enabled, set your departure time, i.e. the time you want your car to be warm, to the schedule. In eco mode, the device heats your car according to the outside temperature, but for a maximum of two hours at a time. If eco mode is not enabled, select a period of up to two hours when you want the device to heat your car.
- Remember to save.
- The device will be powered on when your schedule begins.
Controlling the charging/heating device from the local user interface, i.e. directly from the device, may not be possible in your parking agreement. Check with your housing company or employer. If the word 'LOCK' appears on the display when you press the arrow key, local timing is blocked.
- The eTolpa user interface has two arrow keys: Left and Right. The right one controls the right-hand socket and the left one controls the left-hand socket. Make sure which socket you are setting the timer for, as a timer set for the wrong socket will not work. Enter the departure time with short presses of the button on your side.
- The departure time is always set on the eTolpa clock, i.e. the time when you want your car's heating to be ready.
- When the timer is active, a small number (1) will appear on the device display, on the left side of the display for the left-hand socket and on the right side for the right-hand socket. You can check the set time by briefly pressing the arrow button on the side for which you have set the timer.
- The socket will automatically turn itself on two hours before the scheduled departure time. The display will show the remaining time of the delay.
- If the device display is not lit, check that the RCD is up. If the RCD is down, you can lift it back up and the device display should start working normally.
- If the device does not heat, trip the residual current circuit breaker down and lift it to the upper position to make sure that the circuit breaker is definitely up and has not tripped.
Please note that the exchange electricity schedule is always a one-time event, meaning that recurring schedules cannot be set with exchange electricity. Since the exchange electricity price varies daily, we cannot guarantee that recurring schedules will always be at the most affordable time.
- Open eParking.
- Go to the Bookings tab and select the booking you want to set a schedule for.
- Select “Scheduling” and then “Make a one-time schedule with exchange electricity”.
- The bar chart at the top of the screen shows the price of electricity on the exchange at different times. The prices for the next day are updated at approximately 2:00 p.m.
- Under “Download must be completed by” set the date and time you want your download to be completed by.
- In the "Select desired charging time length" field, enter the charging duration in hours and minutes.
- The app finds the period when electricity is cheapest and automatically schedules charging for that time slot.
- Press “Add new schedule”.
- Your schedule will appear on the “Schedules” page. By pressing the arrow, you can display the schedule details and also delete the schedule if necessary.
Note! You cannot edit your electricity exchange schedule afterwards. If you need to edit your schedule, first delete the schedule you have made and then create a new schedule using the instructions above.
6) Access control in parking areas
Users who have signed a parking contract can find the parking garage door opening code in the eParking service:
- Open eParking.
- Open “Reservations”.
- Select the “Parking garage” tab.
- The Parking Garage section has either a PIN code to open the door or a phone number you can call to open the parking garage door. Some parking garages may have both methods.
Some private parking garages have barriers at the entrance. Users who have signed a parking contract can open the barrier in the eParking application:
- Open eParking.
- Open “Reservations”.
- Select your parking garage reservation.
- Select the “Parking garage” tab.
- Under “Remote door opening”, you will find buttons for opening the boom when entering and exiting.
Payments and invoices
7) Payment methods management
You can pay your invoices received in eParking using many different payment methods.
Examples include:
- online banking payment
- mobile payment methods (Transfer, MobilePay)
- card payment methods (Visa Electron, Visa, Mastercard)
- invoice and installment payment methods (OP Invoice, Walley, Walley Business Invoice)
- Open eParking.
- Open “Menu”.
- Open “Balances and payment cards”.
- Choose whether to add a payment card for short-term events (such as on-street parking) or for contract parking events. You can set up separate payment cards for short-term events and contract parking events.
- Add your payment card under “+ Add new card”.
- Fill in your card details.
- Remember to save.
Note: When you add your payment card to your eParking user account, the system will place a €1 authorization to ensure that your card is valid. The authorization will be removed from your payment card after a short period of time.
Unfortunately, it is not possible to receive an e-invoice for invoices received in eParking. The eParking system needs information about payment immediately so that your parking permit is valid immediately after payment. There may be a delay in paying with an e-invoice, which could result in you receiving a parking ticket for an expired parking permit. With immediate payment methods, you are better able to avoid potential parking tickets, as we receive information about payment of the parking permit invoice immediately.
8) Payment transactions and payment information
There are two ways to pay for short-term parking: by debiting the balance loaded into the user account or by debiting a payment card.
Payment with balance:
- You can top up your balance from the “Balances and payment cards” menu.
- Select the “Short-term” tab at the top of the page and add balance from “+Add balance”.
- If you have chosen to pay for your on-street parking with your balance, the app will charge the parking fees from the balance in your user account as soon as you finish parking.
- Your user account must always have a balance of at least €5 in order to start parking.
- When you choose balance billing, the app will consider it as the default, and all your on-street parking will be charged as balance billing from now on.
Paying with a payment card:
If you do not want to load a balance into your user account, you can select a payment card as the payment method in the menu under “Balances and payment cards”.
- Select “Short-term” at the top of the page, and add your payment card information to “+Add new card”.
- If you add a payment card, the app will charge your on-street parking directly to your payment card on the 1st and 15th of each month .
You can pay your parking contract-related invoices yourself by bank transfer or set up automatic debit for invoices. Invoices paid by bank transfer will be debited from your account as soon as you pay the invoice, and invoices on automatic debit will always be debited the day before the change of billing period.
You can see all your receipts in the eParking system.
- Open eParking.
- Open “Menu”.
- Select “Invoices and transactions”.
- On the next page, you will see your transactions (for example, your parking) and invoices in their own tabs.
- Select the “Invoices” tab. You will be able to view your invoices.
- For each transaction and invoice, there is a link called “Receipt.” Click on the link and the system will ask if you want to send a receipt to your email. Click “Confirm” and you will receive the receipt to the email address you have added to your eParking user information.
eParking allows you to retrieve a receipt for a charging transaction afterwards. The receipt retrieval page serving this purpose is located at receipt.eparking.fi .
You can retrieve your receipt by entering the last four (4) digits of the payment card you used for the top-up transaction and the date of the top-up transaction. If the top-up transaction is spread over more than one day, simply select one of the dates on which the top-up is spread.
Short-term transactions , such as on-street parking and public charging, are charged immediately after the transaction if balance is selected as the payment method. If you have added a payment card, the service charges short-term transactions directly to your payment card on the 1st or 15th of each month, depending on the time of the transaction.
Fixed fees for ongoing contracts (for example, monthly rent for a parking space or charging device) are invoiced in advance. Accumulated variable costs , such as the electricity you use for charging/heating, are charged retrospectively according to the billing interval you choose. In ongoing contracts, a new invoice is generated in the last week of the selected billing period and is always due on the 15th of the month that begins. The exception is the first invoice of the contract, which is generated immediately at the start of the contract and has a payment period of two weeks.
You can choose an invoicing interval of 1, 3, 6 or 12 months, if the property owner allows it.
Example with a 1-month billing interval:
- Fixed fees are invoiced during the month to which they apply.
- The electricity used is billed retrospectively according to the selected billing interval.
Example with a 3-month billing interval:
- The first invoice includes fixed payments for three months.
- The next invoice will come in three months and will cover the next three months of fixed payments.
- The electricity used is billed retrospectively according to the selected billing interval.
You can change the billing interval at any time from the “Reservations” tab in the eParking application. You can check the status of your invoices and the due date of the next invoice either in Reservations or in the Menu under Invoices and events. The invoices also detail the rent or monthly fees for your parking space and the electricity you use. Please note which time interval is billed for which line.
User account management
9) User account settings
When you are logged in to the eParking system, you will see your username at the top of the menu under your name. If you are not logged in to the eParking system and have forgotten your username, please contact our customer service. An eParking user cannot change their username in the eParking system themselves.
Do not create a new username. Your information and reservations will not be visible if you log in with a new username.
If you have registered as a user with a phone number , you do not need a password, but will receive a one-time login code via text message.
If you have registered as a user with email and have forgotten your password or want to change your password, follow these steps:
- Open eParking and log out of your user account.
- Select “Log in to your account”.
- Select “Username and password”.
- Select “Forgot your password?”.
- Enter your email address in the space provided.
- Press “Reset password”.

- Log in to eParking with your additional ID.
- Press your name and the settings icon above the Menu.
- There is a trash can icon in the top corner of the page. Click on the trash can.
- On the next page, the eParking system will first ask you to send a confirmation code.
- Enter the verification code you received in the space provided.
- Press “Delete user account”.
Your information will be removed from the eParking system. Please note that any remaining balance on your account will not be refunded.
You can add a co-user to your eParking account for any reservation you wish. Please note that the co-user can manage the license plate numbers of the cars and the device schedules. However, the co-user cannot terminate your contract or change its details.
- Open eParking.
- Select “Reservations”.
- Select the reservation to which you want to add a co-user.
- Select the “Agreement information” section.
- You can add a parallel user from “Add parallel user”.
- Add the username of the parallel user in the requested field and press “Add”.

- Select “Vehicles”.
- Choose whether you are editing the license plate number associated with contract parking or the license plate number associated with short-term events (for example, on-street parking).
- Add your car's registration number under “+ Add new”.
- Make sure you enter your car's license plate number correctly, as parking enforcement is based on scanning the car's license plate number. An incorrectly entered license plate number may result in a parking ticket.
- Once you have added one registration number, you can add another registration number for the same agreement from the same section “+ Add new”.
- If you add multiple license plates to the app, remember to make sure you have selected the active license plate for the vehicle you intend to park in. An incorrect active license plate in the app may result in a parking ticket.
- You can select the active registration number by clicking on one of the registration numbers you added and selecting “Save changes”.

You can log in to the browser version from the eParking homepage by clicking on "Sign In" at eparking.fi .

2) Short-term parking and public charging points
- Open eParking.
- Make sure the P-icon for short-term parking is selected from the icons at the bottom of the map view.

Public Charging devices are Charging points meant for public use, often located in public spaces like parking lots at malls, hotels, and service stations. All public charging devices compatible with eParking are visible within the app.

You can see the Charging status, duration, and total price immediately on the eParking app's home screen. You can also stop charging from the home screen.
3) Parking in private contract areas
Private contract areas include, for example, housing associations, universities, and companies.
A private contract area refers to a parking lot or garage belonging to, for example, a housing association, workplace or institution. These areas are restricted to residents, employees or students only. To get a parking permit, you must meet certain requirements. For example, your address may need to be in the housing association, or you may have to apply with a work email address. It is recommended that you check the specific criteria with your housing association representative or the person in charge of parking permits at your workplace.
To submit an application:
- Open eParking.
- Open the "Menu".
- Select "Private monthly parking".
- Select "Submit application".
- Search for the private contract area you need access to by address.
- The app will show all contract areas in your searched location.
- Select the correct organization from the dropdown menu and press "Continue".
- Select your user group (eg, "employee" for workplaces, "resident" for housing associations).
- Confirm that the information is correct.
- Send your application.
You will receive an email confirmation once your application has been approved. After this, you can make reservations for a charging device or parking spot.
To make a reservation, you must first make an application and be accepted to said parking area. If you do not have a valid parking contract, apply for one following the instructions 3.1 (Submitting an application for a private contract area).
To make a parking spot reservation in eParking:
- Open eParking.
- Change the map view to the contract parking map by selecting the calendar icon from the icons at the bottom right of the map.
- Search for your housing association's or workplace's parking area by address or location. The app shows in blue on the map the parking areas for which you have the right to park based on your approved parking agreement.
- Move the cursor on the map over the correct parking area and press "Make a new reservation".
- Select your parking space type:
- Unnamed space means you don't have a specific parking spot; you can park in any available spot. This spot does not have a charging/heating device.
- eTolppa space means you have your own designated parking spot with a charging/heating device. You will always park in the same spot.
- Unnamed eTolppa space means you don't have your own specific spot with a charging/heating device, but you can park in any available spot with a device and use it to heat or charge your car.
Note that all of the types of parking spaces described above may not be available in all parking areas.
- After selecting the type of your parking space, press "Next". If there are no available parking spaces in the selected parking area, you can queue for a parking space.
- On the next page, select the contract start date and Billing interval. Fill in any additional information.
- Press "Next".
- Check that the information is correct.
- Read and accept the terms of use.
- Finally, press "Confirm".
Your parking space reservation will take effect on the start date of your chosen contract, when you can start parking in the parking area. Remember to make sure that the license plate number of the vehicle you are parking is selected as active in the app! An incorrect license plate number may result in a parking ticket.
Unnamed eTolppa space means you don't have your own specific spot with a charging/heating device, but you can park in any available spot with a device and use it to heat or charge your car.
Some devices have an eco-mode for heating the car. Eco-mode means that the device heats your car according to the outside temperature, but for no more than two hours. If eco-mode is used, it is enough to set the time by which you need your car to be warm. If the eco-mode is not in use, you can schedule any two hour period of time to heat your car.
This is how you schedule heating or charging on the device:
- Open eParking.
- Open the “Reservations” tab.
- Select the correct reservation.
- Check the "Services" tab to confirm you have selected the correct usage type for the device.
- Next, select the "Timers" tab.
- Select your parking spot number from the list.
- You can add a timer under "Add new timer".
- Remember to save.
If the charging/heating device has a QR code, you can also set a timer using it. Here's how:
- Open eParking.
- On the home screen, select the "QR code" tab.
- Scan the device's QR code in the app.
- The app will take you to a page where you can set the timer directly.
- Set the timer for your desired time under "Add new timer".
- Remember to save.
Electricity will be connected from the device when your timer starts.
When you submit an application for a private contract area, the app will ask for your user group. If you are unsure, ask the eParking Administrator at your workplace or your housing association representative.
- Open eParking.
- Open the "Reservations" tab.
- Select the reservation you want to cancel.
- Select the "Details" tab.
- You can cancel your contract by clicking "Terminate" in the contract details.

- Press "Confirm".
You may terminate your parking contract at any time in the eParking app. However, please note that your contract ends either at the end of the invoicing period or at the end of the month. Therefore you may still get a final invoice after terminating your contract. So be sure to pay your last invoice, even if it comes after your contract has ended!
4) Renting a parking spot
Applying for a residential parking permit is a two-step process. First, you must submit a permit Eligibility application. - Select your parking spot from the list ("Unnamed space").
- Press "Next".
- Select the contract duration.
- Enter your car's license plate number.
- Select "Next".
- Check the details and accept the terms of use.
- Press "Confirm".
- Pay for your permit as soon as possible. The parking permit is only valid once it has been paid.
If you would like to renew your permit, please do it at least 30 days before the end date of your contract to prevent a break in your permit period.
Some parking areas allow you to make an advance booking, meaning you can reserve a parking space for a selected day. Note that some parking areas require a valid parking agreement in order for you to make an advance booking for the area.

- An information box will appear over the pointer.
- If the parking area has a trackable occupancy rate, it will show up here as a color coded percentage (from 0–100%) below the area's name.
- If it's possible to make an advance booking in that area, you can do so by pressing the "Advance booking" button in the info section.
- By clicking the "Select" button, you can proceed to start parking if there is space available in the parking area.

8) Payment transactions and information
There are two ways to pay for short-term parking: Charging a balance loaded on your account or Charging a payment card.
Paying with balance:
- You can load a balance onto your eParking account in the "Wallet" menu.
- Select the "Short-term" tab at the top and add a balance with "+ Add balance".

- If you add a payment card, the app will charge your card for outstanding payments on the 1st and 15th of each month.
You can pay for contract parking invoices by bank transfer or by setting up an automatic charge. Invoices paid by bank transfer are charged from your account immediately. Invoices with an automatic charge are charged on the day before the new Billing period starts.

- You can also retrieve a Charging transaction receipt retroactively from https://receipt.eparking.fi/ .
Short-term events , such as on-street parking and public charging, are charged immediately after the event if balance has been chosen as the payment method. If you have added a payment card, the service will charge short-term events directly from your card either on the 1st or 15th of the month, depending on the timing of the event.
Fixed fees for ongoing contracts (for example, monthly rent for a parking space or charging device) are invoiced in advance. Accrued variable costs , such as the electricity you use for charging/heating, are invoiced afterwards according to your chosen billing interval. In ongoing contracts, a new invoice is generated during the last week of the selected billing period and is always due on the 15th of the following month. The exception is the first invoice of the contract, which is generated immediately when the contract begins, with a payment term of two weeks.
You can choose a Billing interval of 1, 3, 6, or 12 months, provided that the property owner allows it.
Example with a 1-month Billing interval:
- Fixed fees are invoiced during the month to which they apply.
- Electricity used is invoiced afterwards according to the selected Billing interval.
Example with a 3-month Billing interval:
- The first invoice includes fixed fees for three months.
- The next invoice is issued three months later and covers the fixed fees for the following three months.
- Electricity used is invoiced afterwards according to the selected Billing interval.
