[[ p ]] The eParking service is available on both our mobile application and as a browser version, offering identical features. You can choose the option that suits you best. The application works on iOS phones and Android phones. The browser version of eParking works well on most browsers, except Netscape, which may have compatibility issues. Streetside Parking and Use of Public Chargers
-
[[ p ]] When you have parked your car, open the eParking application on your phone.
[[ ol ]] If you have allowed the app to use your location, the map view should be where you are with your phone. If you have not enabled the location, you can search for your location on the map by entering the address where you are in the search field "Enter your location". | Make sure that the P icon, i.e. the short-term parking map, is selected from the icons at the bottom of the application's map view. In this view, you can see all parking areas where you can park for a short time, i.e. street parking areas and public parking areas. | Public parking areas are shown in the map view as blue boxes. Street parking areas are shown in the map view as zone announcements over the cursor. | Select the correct area or side of the street where you are parking. You can move the cursor over the correct area in the map view. When you have found the right area, press "Select". | On the next page, you can also check the hourly price of parking under "Check price". | Select the registration number of the vehicle you are parking with. | Specify the duration of the parking. Select the number of hours and the number of minutes. | Also check when your parking ends. In addition, you can see the total price of parking for the parking time you have chosen. | Press “Start Parking”. | Once parking has started, you can increase the parking time or end parking earlier. You will only be charged for the actual parking time.

[[ video ]] Street parking and public charging
-
[[ ol ]] Open the eParking application on your phone. | In the front page map view, select the P icon from the icons at the bottom. The application informs that "Short-term parking map selected". | In the "Enter location" section at the top, you can search for public charging points by city or address. If you want, you can filter the search results to, for example, a certain type of connector by clicking on the circle on the right side of the search bar. | You can also locate your location using the locator at the top of the map view. Using the locator requires that you have allowed the application to use your location. | Public charging points are displayed in the map view based on the connector type. | Move the pointer over the correct area in the map view. Parking areas and public charging points are shown on the map as blue areas. | When the cursor is on the right area, select "Charging points" from the info window. Under "Info" you can see the kWh prices for public charging. From "Select" you can start using the public charging point. | Search the list for a place that corresponds to the number of your parking space. You can check the slot number on the side of the charging device. Choose a place by clicking on its number in the list. | After choosing a place, the application opens a page where you can check the price of the download. Also check that you have selected the correct car registration number. | Finally, press “Start Download”. | If the charging device has a QR code, you can also read it via the "QR code" section of the eParking application, and the application will recognize your location and the device, and you can directly start charging. | You can see the charging status, duration and total price immediately on the front page of the eParking application when you open the application. You can also stop the download from the home page. | The use of a public charging point is charged for the balance you have loaded into the eParking application. So remember to make sure you have loaded enough balance into the app! The minimum amount for loading the balance is €5.
Payment Matters in eParking
-
[[ p ]] There are two ways to pay for street parking: debiting the balance loaded into the user account or debiting the payment card.
[[ p ]] If you wish, you can load a balance to your eParking account in the menu item "Balances and payment cards". Select the "Short-term" tab at the top of the page and add a balance from the "+Increase balance" section. If you have chosen to pay for your street parking with the balance, the application will charge the parking fees from the balance in your user account as soon as you stop parking. The user account must always have a balance of at least €5 in order to start parking. When you choose a balance debit, the application considers it as the default, and in the future all your street parking will be charged as a balance debit.
[[ p ]] If you don't want to load a balance to your user account, you can choose a payment card as the payment method under "Balances and payment cards" in the menu. Select "Short-term" at the top of the page, and add your payment card information to "+Add new card". If you add a payment card, the application charges your street parking directly from your payment card every 1st and 15th of the month.
-
[[ p ]] You can pay the bills related to your contract parking yourself by bank transfer or you can set the bills to be automatically debited. Invoices paid by bank transfer are debited from your account as soon as you pay the invoice, and invoices with automatic debit are always debited on the day before the billing period changes.
-
[[ p ]] Mobile app:
[[ ol ]] Open the eParking app on your phone. | Open "Menu". | Open "Balances and payment cards". | Choose whether you add a payment card for short-term events (for example, street parking) or contract parking events. If you want, you can set the payments for short-term events and contract parking events to be charged to different payment cards. | Add your payment card under "+ Add new card". | Fill in your card information. | Remember to save.
[[ p ]] Browser version:
[[ ol ]] Log in to the eParking system at eparking.fi. | Click on the gear icon next to your name and username at the top of the menu on the left. | Choose whether you add a payment card for short-term events (for example, street parking) or contract parking events. If you want, you can set the payments for short-term events and contract parking events to be charged to different payment cards. | Add your payment card under "+ Add new card". | Fill in your card information. | Remember to save.
[[ p ]] Please note that when you add your payment card to your eParking user account, the application makes a deposit of €1 to ensure that your card is valid. The shortfall will be removed from your payment card after a short time.
-
[[ p ]] You can see all your receipts in the eParking system.
[[ ol ]] Open eParking. | Open "Menu". | Select "Invoices and transactions". | On the next page, you can see your transactions (for example, your parking) and invoices in their own tabs. | For each transaction and invoice there is a link "Receipt." Click the link, and the system will ask if the receipt will be sent to your email. Press "Confirm", and you will receive a receipt to the email address you have added to your user information in eParking.
-
[[ p ]] You can find the invoices related to your contracts in the eParking system.
[[ ol ]] Open eParking. | Open "Menu". | Select "Invoices and transactions". | On the next page, you can see your transactions (for example, parking) and your invoices on two tabs. | Select the "Invoices" tab. You can view your invoices.
-
[[ p ]] You can pay your invoices entered in eParking with many different payment methods.
[[ p ]] For example:
[[ ul ]] online bank payment | mobile payment methods (Siirto, MobilePay, Pivo) | card payment methods (Visa Electron, Visa, Mastercard) | invoicing and installment payment methods (OP Invoice, Walley, Walley Company Invoice)
[[ p ]] You can choose your preferred payment method.
-
[[ p ]] Unfortunately, it is not possible to receive an e-invoice for invoices sent to eParking. The eParking system needs information about the payment immediately so that your parking permit is valid immediately after paying for the permit. There might be a delay in paying with an e-invoice, in which case you might receive a parking violation fee due to an expired parking permit. With immediate payment methods, you are therefore better able to avoid possible parking error fees, when the information about the payment of the parking permit invoice reaches us immediately.
-
[[ p ]] There are different charging times for different transactions. Parking on the side of the street and in public parking areas, as well as charging from public charging stations, will be charged immediately in connection with the event.
[[ p ]] If you have a continuous parking contract (for example, a monthly contract for a certain parking area), fixed fees, such as the service fee and parking space rent, are charged in advance. The charging and/or heating electricity you use will be charged in retrospect for the amount of the billing interval.
[[ p ]] Example with a billing interval of 1 month:
[[ ul ]] You have signed a parking contract on 1.1. from and you choose a billing interval of one month. When you sign the contract, you will be charged the January fee, which includes any parking space rent, monthly parking fee or monthly service fee for the charging/heating pole. The charging and/or heating electricity you use in January will be charged for the first time in March, at the same time as the fixed charges for March. In addition, the same fixed fees are charged in the February invoice as in January, i.e. the rent of a parking space or the monthly fee for parking and a possible service fee. | The parking space rent or monthly fee is therefore charged in the same month (January rent in January, February rent in February, and so on) and the electricity used is charged retroactively according to the billing interval (with a one-month billing interval, January electricity is charged in March, February electricity in April, and so on).
[[ p ]] Example with a billing interval of 3 months:
[[ ul ]] You have signed a parking contract on 1.1. from and you choose a three-month billing interval. You will receive your first invoice two weeks after the start of the contract, and the first invoice includes the rent of the parking space or the monthly parking fee, as well as the possible monthly service fee for the charging/heating pole for the period January-March. From now on, your invoicing interval will be three months, with your next invoice coming at the end of March for the next three months. In the March invoice, any electricity for January-February is also charged. | The fixed costs of your parking space (rent or monthly fee) and the charging and/or heating electricity you use are charged at the same time.
[[ p ]] You can choose a billing interval of 1 month, 3 months, 6 months or 12 months, if the property owner has allowed the use of different billing intervals. You can change the billing interval at any time from the Reservations tab of the eParking application. You can check the status of your invoices and the due date of your future invoice either in Reservations or in the Menu under Invoices and transactions. Your invoices also itemize the rent or monthly payments for your parking space and the electricity you use. Please make sure to look at which time interval is billed on which line.

[[ p ]] When the service is used for making purchases or transactions, related information is collected. Transactions use an external gateway, so no credit card or bank account numbers are collected.
[[ p ]] Below is a list of information that may be stored:
[[ ul ]] Name | Personal ID | Company | Email | Information related to the parking place | Purchase and transaction information | Car registration numbers | Telephone number
[[ p ]] The parking administrator may also collect certain necessary information such as phone number, workplace name or home address. IGL-Technologies Oy is committed to protecting users' personal data. Personal data is protected by implementing appropriate technical and sato measures.

[[ p ]] A private contract area means, for example, a housing company's or workplace's parking area or parking garage. The parking area is limited to the use of, for example, residents or employees only, and in order to get a parking permit in the area, the applicant must meet certain criteria (for example, the address must be the address of the housing association or the application must be submitted via work email). You should check the criteria with your own housing association representative or the person who manages workplace parking permits.
[[ p ]] Apply for a private contract area in the eParking system:
[[ ol ]] Open eParking. | Open "Menu". | Select "Private Contract Areas". | Select "Send application". | Search by address or city for the private contract area for which you need access rights. You can also move the cursor to the right place on the map. | The application tells you all the contract areas in the area you are applying for. | Select the right company from the drop-down menu and press "Continue". | Choose your user group (mostly staff at workplaces, residents at housing associations). If you are not sure of your user group, you can confirm your correct group from the property manager or your employer. | Make sure the information is correct. | Submit your application. You will receive a confirmation in your email when your application has been approved.
[[ p ]] After the application is approved, you can make a reservation for a parking space and/or a charging/heating post.
-
[[ p ]] Once your application for a private contract area has been approved, you can make a reservation for a parking space and/or a heating/charging station. So in order to make a reservation for a charging device or rent a parking space, you must have a valid license agreement for the parking area in question.
[[ p ]] When making a reservation, the application asks for the type of parking space. Different types of parking spaces may have different prices.
An unassigned spot means that you don't have a specific parking spot of your own, but you can park in any free parking spot. There is no charging/heating device.
An eTolppa place means that you have your own parking space, and there is a charging/heating device at your disposal. You always park in the same parking spot.
An unassigned eTolppa space means that you do not have your own specific parking space equipped with a charging/heating device, but you can park in any free parking space equipped with a device and use the device to heat or charge your car.
[[ p ]] ——————————
[[ p ]] Book a parking space in eParking:
[[ ol ]] Open eParking. | Change the map view to the contract parking map by selecting the calendar icon from the icons displayed at the bottom right of the map. The application informs that "Selected contract map". | Search for the parking area of your housing association or workplace based on the address or location. The application shows on the map in blue the parking areas to which you have parking rights based on your approved contract. | Move the cursor over the correct parking area on the map and press "Select". | Select the type of your parking space. Please note that not all parking areas may offer all the types of parking spaces described above. After choosing the type of your parking place, press "Next". If the type of parking space you selected is not available in the parking area, you can queue up. | On the next page, select the start date of the contract and the billing interval. Fill in the additional information. Please note that if you wish, you can already add the registration numbers of all vehicles in use to the reservation at this stage. | Press “Next”. | Check that the information is correct. | Read and accept the terms of use. | Finally, press "Confirm".
[[ p ]] Your parking space reservation takes effect on the start date of the contract you have chosen, and you can then start parking in the parking area. Remember to check that the registration number of the vehicle is active in the application with which you parked in the parking lot! An incorrect registration number can lead to a parking violation fee.

Renting a Parking Space
-
[[ p ]] An unassigned eTolppa space means that you do not have your own parking space with a charging/heating device reserved just for you, but you can park in any free parking space with a device. You can use the device with the eParking application.
[[ p ]] This is how you can schedule the heating or charging of the pole:
[[ ol ]] Log in to eParking. | Open the "Bookings" tab. | Choose the right reservation from your reservations. | Check in the Additional services tab of the reservation that you have chosen the correct mode of use for the device (heating use, indoor space heater or electric car charging). | After that, select the tab “Times”. | Choose your parking spot from the list. You can find the number of the parking space on the cover of the charging/heating device. | You can add a schedule from the "Add new schedule" section. | Remember to save.
[[ p ]] Please note that some of the destinations use the so-called eco mode for heating the car. Eco mode means that the device heats your car according to the outside temperature, but for a maximum of two hours. If eco mode is in use, all you have to do is set the time when you want your car to be warm. If eco mode is not in use, you can schedule a two-hour heating time for the time you want.
[[ p ]] If the charging/heating device has a QR code, you can also set the timing through it.
[[ p ]] Then do this:
[[ ol ]] Log in to eParking. | On the home page, select the "Qr code" tab. Note that you must allow the app to use your camera to read the QR code on the device. | Scan the device's QR code via the app. | The application takes you to a page where you can set the timing directly without having to select the number of your parking spot from a list. | Set the timing to the time you want from the "Add new timing" section. | Remember to save.
[[ p ]] Electricity is connected to the device when your timer starts.
-
[[ p ]] Users who have signed a parking contract can find the parking garage door opening code in the eParking application:
[[ ol ]] Log in to the eParking application. | Open "Bookings". | Select the "Parking Hall" tab. | The Parking garage section has either a PIN code to open the door or a phone number you can call to open the parking garage door. Some parking garages may have both methods in use.
-
[[ p ]] Some private parking garages have booms at the entrance. The boom can be opened by users who have signed a parking contract via the eParking application:
[[ ol ]] Log in to the eParking application. | Open "Bookings". | Select your parking garage reservation. | Select the "Parking hall" tab. | In the section "Remote opening of the door" you will find the buttons for opening the boom when driving in and out.
-
[[ p ]] First, make an application for access rights. This application ensures that you live in an area whose residents are entitled to the city's resident parking permit.
[[ ol ]] Open the eParking application. | Open "Private contract areas" from the menu. | Enter your address or city in the search field, for example "Tampere, Finland". | Select "City parking" from the drop-down menu and press "Continue". | Select "Resident parking" from the list and press "Login". | Identify yourself with the identification method of your choice. | The system recognizes your right to a resident parking permit based on your address. Your application will be accepted immediately if your address is in an area entitled to a resident parking permit.
[[ p ]] When your application has been approved, apply for a parking permit.
[[ ol ]] Open the eParking application. | Select the calendar icon at the bottom of the map view. | Enter your address in the search field. The map moves to the address you entered. | The map shows the area outlined in blue where you can apply for a parking permit. | Move the pointer over the blue area and press "Select". | Choose your parking place from the list (Unnamed place). | Press “Next”. | Choose the duration of the contract. | Fill in your car's registration number and check that it is correct. | Select “Next”. | Check the information and accept the terms of use. | Press “Confirm”. | Pay what you promised as soon as possible. The parking permit is only valid after it has been paid.
[[ p ]] If you want to renew your permit, remember to do so no later than 30 days before the permit's expiration date to avoid interruptions in the parking permit. -
[[ p ]] Some parking areas can be pre-booked, that is, you can reserve a parking space for yourself before you park, for example the day before. Please note, however, that some parking areas require a valid parking contract in order to pre-book the area.
[[ p ]] Make an advance reservation like this:
[[ ol ]] Open the eParking application. | Open the menu and select "Pre-booking". | Select "Reserve parking". | Enter the name or address of the parking area under "Enter location". | Parking areas are shown on the map as blue areas. Move the pointer over the parking area for which you want to make an advance reservation. | When the cursor is over the area, press "Select" from the box that appears over the cursor. | On the next page, select the date for which you want to make an advance reservation. At the bottom of the page there is also a section called "Prices", where you can check the parking prices of the parking area you have chosen. | Press “Continue”. | Choose the time of day for your parking. | Select the correct car registration number. | Press “Confirm”.
[[ p ]] Your pre-booking information is displayed on the "Pre-booking" page of the menu. You can edit the pre-booking or, if necessary, delete the pre-booking you have made. Even if you don't use your pre-booking, remember to delete it to free up parking space for others.
-
[[ p ]] If you plan to park in a parking area that is often full or almost full, you can check the parking area's occupancy rate in advance on eParking.
[[ p ]] Check the occupancy rate of the parking area as follows:
[[ ol ]] Open the eParking application. | Select the P icon from the icons at the bottom of the front page map. The application informs that "Short-term parking map selected". | Enter the address or name of the parking area under "Enter location". | Parking areas are shown on the map as blue boxes. Move the pointer over the parking area whose utilization rate you want to check. | Press the "info" button in the box that appears on the cursor. | You can see the utilization rate of the parking area in the area information under the area name. The utilization rate is reported between 0-100%. | If it is possible to make an advance reservation for the parking area, you can do it from the "Make an advance reservation" button in the area's information. This way you can ensure that you get a parking space in the parking area you want. | From the "Continue" button, you can continue to start parking if there is space in the parking area.

Then do this:
[[ ol ]] Log in to eParking. | On the home page, select the "Qr code" tab. Note that you must allow the app to use your camera to read the QR code on the device. | Scan the device's QR code via the app. | The application takes you to a page where you can set the timing directly without having to select the number of your parking spot from a list. | Set the timing to the time you want from the "Add new timing" section. | Remember to save.
[[ p ]] Electricity is connected to the device when your timer starts.
-
[[ p ]] When you apply for a private contract area, the application asks for your user group. In housing associations, the most common user group is Resident and in workplaces, Employee. However, some sites have many different user groups, for whom parking rights may be different. Sometimes, for example, in workplaces, your user group is the team or unit where you work.
[[ p ]] If you are not sure what your user group is, ask the eParking administrator at your workplace or a representative of your housing company.
-
[[ p ]] You can add a parallel user to your eParking account for the reservation you want. Note that the parallel user can control the car registration numbers and pole timings. However, the parallel user cannot terminate your contract or change its information.
[[ ol ]] Log in to eParking. | Select “Reservations”. | Select the reservation to which you want to add a parallel user. | Select the section "Contract information". | You can add a parallel user from the "Add parallel user" section. | Add the parallel user's username in the requested field and press "Add".
-
[[ p ]] You can cancel your parking contract at any time in the eParking application. However, please note that your contract ends either at the end of the billing period or at the end of a whole month. So you may receive a final bill even after the billing period, so remember to pay your last bill as well, even if the bill comes after the contract has already ended!
How to cancel your contract:
[[ ol ]] Log in to eParking. | Open the "Bookings" tab. | Select the reservation you want to cancel. | Select the "Agreement information" tab. | You can cancel your contract by clicking on "Cancellation" in the contract information. | The app asks you to confirm that you really want to cancel your contract. | Press “Confirm”.

[[ p ]] Schedule a download via reservations:
[[ ol ]] Log in to eParking. | Open the "Bookings" tab. | Select the “Timeouts” tab. | If you have an undesignated eTolppa space (ie you can park in any parking space equipped with a charging device), select the number of the parking space from the list. You can see the number on the cover of the charging device. If you have a designated eTolppa space (i.e. you always park in the same parking space and use the same charging device), you do not need to dial a number. | Add a schedule from the "Add new schedule" section. Choose the interval when you want the device to charge your car. Press “Save”. The electricity is connected to the device when your timer starts. | In some locations, it is also possible to choose continuous electricity for the device, i.e. the electricity is always on in the charging device. In this case, you don't need to set a timer, but you can connect the cable when you arrive and disconnect it when you leave. So the device always has electricity for charging the car.
[[ p ]] You can also set the timing by reading the QR code on the cover of the device:
[[ ol ]] Log in to eParking. | Select the "QR code" tab. Remember to allow the app to use your phone's camera to read the QR code. | Move your phone's camera over the QR code on the device and read the QR code. | The application recognizes the number of your parking space. If you have a designated eTolppa space (i.e. you always park in the same parking space and use the same heating device), you do not need to dial a number. | Add a schedule from the "Add new schedule" section. If eco mode is used at your destination, set your departure time in the schedule, i.e. the time when you want your car to be warm. In eco mode, the device heats your car according to the outside temperature, but for a maximum of two hours. If eco mode is not in use, select a period of up to two hours when you want the device to heat your car. | Remember to save. | The electricity is connected to the device when your timer starts.
| Add a schedule from the "Add new schedule" section. [[ p ]] Controlling the bollard from the local user interface is not necessarily possible in your parking contract. Check with your housing company or employer.
[[ ol ]] eTolpa's user interface has two arrow keys: Left and Right. The one on the right (Right) controls the socket on the right and the one on the left (Left) controls the left one. Make sure which socket you are setting the timer to, because the timer set to the wrong socket will not work. Press the Departure time button on your side with short presses. | The departure time is always set in the eTolppa clock, i.e. the time when you want your car's heating to be ready. | When the timing is valid, a small number 1 appears on the display of the pole (for the left socket on the left side of the screen and for the right socket on the right). You can check the set time by briefly pressing the arrow key on the side where you have set the timing. | The socket turns on automatically two hours before the scheduled time. The display shows the remaining timing time. The schedule repeats the same every day as long as it is changed or deleted. | If there is no light on the pole display, check that the fault current is up. If the fault current is low, you can raise it back up, and the pole display should start working normally. | If the pole does not heat, trip the circuit breaker down and raise it to the up position to make sure the breaker is up and has not tripped.
