The exchange electricity feature of eParking, which was available to order from the end of 2024, can now be put into use. The long-awaited feature serves car chargers and heaters even more versatilely.

The general value added tax (VAT) in Finland will change from 24 percent to 25.5 percent starting in September. With the change, the VAT rate for the prices of electricity and parking spaces in the eParking system will change to the new VAT rate from September 1, 2024.

As the popularity of electric vehicles grows, so does the need for charging infrastructure. The new law on equipping buildings with electric vehicle charging points has entered into force in stages, and it applies to both new and existing non-residential buildings. The goal is to ensure that electric car drivers have enough charging opportunities everywhere.

It's already busy! A charging point for electric cars must be installed in the parking spaces of non-residential buildings by the end of the year.

Housing association and parking lot charging of electric cars grew almost tenfold in two years. Tampere-based eParking's network already has more than 65,000 charging points in housing estates and parking areas across Finland. The charging volumes of electric cars using the network have increased from 2021 to 2023 almost tenfold.
