Leppävaara Tower: Charging points for the parking company
Asunto Oy Espoon Leppävaaran Torni is one of the largest housing companies and most prestigious residential buildings in Espoo. The apartment building is located near Leppävaara railway station and the Sello shopping center. The housing company has 113 apartments and approximately 200 residents. The company also has its own parking garage with 79 parking spaces as shared spaces.
The housing company has implemented several improvement projects in recent years, the aim of which has been to increase the value of the property and increase the comfort of residents. At the last general meeting, it was decided to electrify all parking spaces with the eTolppa charging solution. The Garo heating devices in the parking garage were updated to support electric car charging and remote-controlled car heating. The modification work was technically simple, as the old devices could be updated by replacing their internal parts with a quick connector. This enabled an inexpensive and quick implementation.
Slow electric car charging (8A–16A) increases the value of parking spaces and makes it easier for residents to purchase an electric car. Residents who do not yet have an electric car will also benefit from the change, as the eTolppa system allows the car to continue to be heated remotely. In the future, more efficient charging points (11 kW+) can also be added to the system without having to replace the entire system.
Automated billing – no extra work for hosting
Electricity consumption is automatically billed to the user's credit card, which reduces the administrative work of management and building maintenance. In large housing companies, manual billing practices are often laborious and increase costs, so the automatic system brings significant savings. The use is based on consumption-based billing, which means that everyone only pays for their own electricity consumption. Residents who do not use electricity, even to heat their car, do not have to pay jointly and severally for the consumption of others - as has traditionally been done in many housing companies.
The system was installed by Aro Systems Oy, and the implementation was quick. Users manage the system with the eParking application, which allows charging and heating to be easily controlled from a mobile device.
A cost-effective investment for the housing company and residents
The total cost of installing the eTolppa system was approximately €320 per parking space, including VAT. The housing company pays a small monthly fee to use the system, which covers both invoicing and remote control. It is currently possible to receive 35% ARA support for the investment, which makes it an economically attractive solution. Thanks to the change, the company fee can be reduced, and the payback period for the investment for the user is only a few years.
Asunto Oy Espoon Leppävaaran Torni is an excellent example of a housing company that invests in sustainable development and modern solutions.
