Lahti Market Park: New flat quality
A new charging field was opened in the Lahti Market Park in April 2021. The modern charging service in collaboration with Kempower utilizes DC technology (DC), which enables more efficient and faster charging.
DC rechargers represent significant progress from the charging options for electric car. Traditionally, electric cars are charged with AC (AC), which converts the internal charger to the DC required by the battery. As a result of this conversion process, charging power is often lower than the rated power of the charger. However, this restriction is bypassed by the DC download, as charging is charged directly to the car's battery without power restrictions caused by an internal charger. This makes charging faster and more efficient.
After installation, the Lahti Market Park has four new DC instant quicks, which offer up to 150 kW charging power for all electric cars. The cost of the charging is 0.25 € / kWh (in April 2021). This Lahti Parking and Eparking joint project promotes sustainable movement and improves the charging experience of electric car drivers. The introduction of the first DC chargers through EParking just in Lahti-the European Environmental Capital of 2021-is a natural step towards more ecological urban traffic.
Lahti Parking and Eparking have worked long -term cooperation in the development of digital parking permits. Now this collaboration is expanding to cover intelligent charging solutions that support the proliferation of electric cars and sustainable urban traffic.
