of the cars that are being registered for the first time are already rechargeable, so many motorists these days not only have to arrange parking but also charging more and more often.

High-power charging is one option for electric car drivers: it charges the car quickly and enables a quick return to the road. The downside is usually the price: charging with a high-power charger is often the most expensive way to add mileage to the battery.

eParking offers charging for parking spaces - and parking payment services

However, cheaper charging options are available. Such is offered by domestic eParking, which offers both parking and charging services in one package, for example for housing associations, companies and parking garages.

The electrification of parking spaces in particular is the key to the spread of electric transport.

For the majority of motorists, the daily driving distance is clearly shorter than the operating distance of the most common electric cars. Your car often spends most of its time either in the parking lot of your home or workplace, which is a natural place to charge your car. When electricity is available in the home park, the need for more expensive high-power charging is also reduced.

When parked, even a lower charging power is sufficient. For example, when charging overnight, the charging power of just a few kilowatts is enough in most cases to fill the car's battery. This kind of low-power charging during parking is often called parking charging.

The entire service package from one operator

When organizing parking charging, things to consider are, for example, installation work and maintenance of charging equipment, sufficient power of the electrical connections in the parking area or building, and intelligent power distribution between different charging locations, as well as billing for the actual charging electricity. eParking does exactly this, and in this way the owner of the parking garage or, for example, the property manager of a housing association, has less to worry about, while the end user's service improves.

Parking charging makes sense anyway. Low-power charging does not significantly heat up the battery, and is therefore a better option for the car's battery than high-power charging. Also, the costs of charging equipment and a large charging field are only a fraction compared to high-power charging. Parking charging usually takes place at night, when electricity is not only the cheapest, but also the most environmentally friendly. And of course, the mileage charged at home saves high-power charging points for those motorists who really need to charge quickly.

For charge management and payments, eParking offers motorists a payment application for their smartphone. It is only natural that the same application manages not only charging but also parking. eParking is also a significant operator of parking fees for public parking areas. The parking service is suitable for all motorists, regardless of driving power.

The parking charge increases the value of the apartment

The ability to charge a car is also a determinant of the value of real estate or housing shares. Nordea's senior analyst Juho Kostiainen stated in his review that charging infrastructure requires investments, especially from housing companies, and specifically the lack of a charging point can become an obstacle to housing sales more often than not. Parking charging solutions should therefore be considered in every housing association.

eParking is Finland's largest business and home charging network with approximately 67,000 charging points. The majority of these chargers are in the parking lots of housing associations and other private operators, enabling electric movement every day.

The eParking service is provided by IGL-Technologies Oy, founded in 2009.
