Did you know that Etolppa and its idea came from a student dwelling in the Tampere automation technology Di student? The idea of a remote -controlled temperature was born when the student's own parking space was 300 meters and the car was mostly frozen due to irregular mobility, as the timing of the post did not correspond to the actual departure time.

The remote -controlled post was one of the visions when a student and his friends went on to promote his ideas. Students told about their thoughts to a few acquaintances through whom they received suitable contacts. The idea also aroused interest, and students received encouragement from business, as a result of which Igl-Technologies Oy was founded in late 2009. The first poles were made manually by adding intelligence to existing posts. The company focused purely on product development and demo in the early years, but the first customer and collaboration relationships have remained in the early days.

At a very early stage, it was noted that the posts could also be used to charge electric cars. However, there were still very few electric cars at the time, so the company focused primarily on marketing the product as a premium temperature from the point of view of intelligent energy management solutions and energy savings. The actual growth of the company began to appear as the cars to be recharged only became more common.

Good references were acquired early at the Oulu Airport and the Tampere Power Plant. However, the biggest change happened when the Tampere University of Technology decided to change all its temperature to etholp. The matter was discussed with the client to find that there was a lot to digitize in their parking management. As a result of the development work, Eparking.fi was created, which enabled the subscriber to save considerably from his or her working time. Manual work, maintaining tables, laminated licensed pads and billing were digitized. It was clear that there would be demand for the service elsewhere.

Etolppa and eparking have gone hand in hand since. The posts are managed on Eparking.fi or alternatively in the application. Nowadays, the etholp is more of a brand name, and digital management of charging and parking is in the foreground.

In October 2019, we exceeded a significant limit: 10,000 ethols have been installed ! Many thanks to our customers and all our partners!
