Charging electric and hybrid cars

In most of our properties, it is possible to order a charging facility for an electric car and/or a hybrid car. As a rule, we offer slow charging (power 1.8 kW). We only offer charging points for parking spaces with heated poles.

As a VAV resident, you can order a car charging facility through our partner eParking. Before ordering, please confirm with VAV customer service that it is possible to install a charging device in the parking space you want. Please also accept the terms of use below.

VAV Terms of Use for Vehicle Charging

1. Terms of Use

Charging a vehicle at parking spaces owned by VAV Group companies (“VAV”) requires that the user of the Charging Service (as defined below) (“User”) accepts these Terms of Use and VAV’s Parking Space Terms and Conditions. Use of the Charging Service also requires that the User and VAV have a valid rental agreement for a parking space that has the ability to charge a vehicle.

To the extent that these terms of use or the VAV parking space terms and conditions do not provide otherwise, the terms of the user agreement concluded between the Charging Service operator and the User shall apply.

2. Using the eParking app and sockets to charge the vehicle

To charge the vehicle, the User must obtain the eParking application on a smartphone and enter into a user agreement with the eParking application administrator (“eParking”) (the charging service used through the eParking application is hereinafter referred to as the “Charging Service”). With the help of the Charging Service, VAV is able to ensure the electrical safety of the charging equipment and bill the User for the electricity used in charging and the monthly rental of the charging point. The electricity price is reviewed four times a year and the User accepts that the electricity price may change during the validity of the Charging Service.

After purchasing the Charging Service, the usage restrictions on the socket are removed, meaning that electricity is constantly available from the socket. Charging a vehicle is prohibited without a valid Charging Service. The Charging Service automatically detects abuse, based on which the User can be billed both the monthly fee for the Charging Service and the entire amount of electricity used retroactively.

VAV is not liable for any damage caused to third party property in the parking space. The charging cable must be disconnected before driving off. Only passenger cars and vans in use, as well as mopeds and motorcycles, may be parked in the parking space. Parking of trucks, trailers, caravans and vehicles that have been removed from use, among other things, is prohibited in the parking space. The user is liable for any damage caused by misuse of the Charging Service.

3. eParking socket charging power and division of responsibility

The user must only use a charging cable intended for the vehicle in question, which complies with official requirements. The use of the correct charging cable is the responsibility of the user. VAV is not liable for any damage caused by misuse of the Charging Service, eParking or the charging device. The power limitation of Schuko sockets for charging is based on the 2018 Electric Vehicle Charging Recommendation of the electrical engineering standardization organization SESKO, according to which electric cars and plug-in hybrids can be charged from a household socket, provided that the long-term charging current drawn by the vehicle is limited to 8 amps. VAV generally offers users 1.8kW of charging power. The charging power may vary depending on the property and the time of day.

4. Validity of the charging service and compensation for damages

The right to use the Charging Service ends if the User moves out of VAV or the parking space rental agreement ends for any other reason. When the User moves out of VAV, the User is responsible for terminating the service agreement with eParking. The Charging Service also ends if the charging service agreement between VAV and eParking ends.

VAV has the right to terminate the parking space rental agreement if the vehicle is charged without permission. VAV also has the right to terminate the usage agreement between the User and the Charging Service operator to expire at the end of the month following the current month, if the parking space rental agreement between the User and VAV expires. The User will be notified separately of any termination of the Charging Service.

VAV is not liable for any damages that may arise from the termination of the Charging Service to the User. The transfer of the right to use the Charging Service or the user agreement between eParking and the User to a third party without VAV's written consent is prohibited. VAV is not liable for any restrictions or irregularities in the distribution of electricity, any direct or indirect damage to the User's property in the parking space, or any damage caused by the inability to use the Charging Service, unless VAV has caused the damage through negligence.

5. Changes to the Terms of Use

VAV reserves all rights to change the terms of use.

6. Privacy Policy

When the User activates and uses the Charging Service in a parking space owned by VAV, the collection and processing of the User's personal data is limited to the level necessary for providing the Charging Service. The processing of personal data is comparable to the processing of personal data related to maintaining the tenancy of the parking space rented by the User. See VAV's customer privacy statement https://vav.fi/tietoa-meista/tietosuoja/

VAV residents pay the parking space rental and the electricity used for charging to eParking through the eParking application.
